With the decrease of winter temperature, many occasions of the pump due to the temperature stop using, at this time the pump maintenance and repair become particularly important, the following by the small to share with you about the maintenance and repair methods of the water pump in winter.

1. After the pump is out of service, the remaining water in the pump and pipeline should be drained, and the external soil should be cleaned to prevent the pump body and water pipe from cracking after freezing.

2. Iron castings such as bottom valve and elbow of water pump shall be cleaned with steel wire brush, and then coated with antirust paint before painting. After drying, they shall be stored in ventilated and dry places in machine room or storage room.

3. If the belt is driven by a belt, it should be washed and dried with warm water after being removed. It should be hung in a dry place without direct sunlight, and should not be stored in a place with oil, corrosion and smoke. In any case, do not allow the belt to be stained with oil, diesel or gasoline, and do not apply rosin and other viscous substances.

4. Check the ball bearing, and replace it if the inner sleeve is worn, the ball is worn or the surface has spots. For the bearings that do not need to be replaced, clean the bearings with gasoline or kerosene, coat them with butter and reassemble them.

5. Check whether the impeller of the water pump has cracks or small holes, and whether the fixed nut of the impeller is loose. If there is any damage, repair or replace it. If the impeller is worn too much or has been damaged, it should be replaced with a new impeller. Local damage can be repaired by welding, or repair impeller with epoxy resin mortar. Generally, static balance test should be carried out for repaired impeller. Check the clearance of the impeller anti-wear ring. If it exceeds the specified value, it should be repaired or replaced.

6. For bending or serious wear of the pump shaft, should be repaired or replaced, or it will cause rotor imbalance and wear of related parts.

7. The removed screws are soaked in diesel oil, cleaned with steel wire brush, coated with oil or grease, re installed or wrapped with plastic cloth and placed well (also can be stored in diesel oil), so as to avoid corrosion or loss.

Six methods to prevent freezing of water pump

It is common for pumps to freeze, especially in northern areas. It is easy to freeze in winter. In view of this situation, we summarized the following measures to maintain the pump. The following six items are the precautions of water pump in winter. More maintenance should be done to prevent the water pump from cracking and shorten the service life of the pump.

1. Drain the water in the pump and add water when using. Prevent water pump from freezing and cracking.

2. If the pump freezes, use hot water or boiling water to pour into the pump to melt ice. Or heat the pump housing.

3. Use downhole pumps. Put the water pump into the underground, the water pump is generally deep from the ground and will not freeze.

4. Using heat preservation water Add steam or heat to the insulation to prevent freezing of the pump.

5. Non self priming centrifugal pump is used. When using, add water.

6. Place the pump in a normal temperature environment. Zero is OK.
